Full-Time Web and Social Media Position

Community News Group is New York City’s largest network of local weekly newspapers, reaching over a million readers in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan. In addition, CNG publishes specialty magazines and local websites. CNG is looking to expand its online presence. You will travel to different offices around the city and coordinate with Editorial, Sales, and Production departments to ensure that CNG’s digital products and processes can grow.

This unique opportunity requires a highly savvy individual who has experience in web design and maintenance, Google Ad Words, SEO, SEM, landing pages, and social media for business.


• Experience in developing and maintaining WordPress sites.

• Experience in managing and maintaining a social media presence.

• Experience with PHP, HTML, and CSS.

• Knowledge of usability, browser/device compatibility, cross-browser issues/challenges, responsive design, mobile web integration, and current web design trends and techniques a plus.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Mailroom Coordinator

CNG is seeking a Mailroom Coordinator to work in our Downtown Brooklyn location.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee the daily operations of the mailroom

• Process all incoming and outgoing mail and packages

• Organize weekly newspapers and ensure the newspaper shelving is neat

• Create a weekly inventory report of all office supplies

• Light maintenance and office cleaning

• Other duties as assigned


• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Ability to work independently and multi-task

• Prior mailroom experience preferred
